This piece is based on a photo I took at Bald Head Island, a spectacular barrier island off the coast of North Carolina. I created it as a sample for an article I wrote for the December 2010/January 2011 issue of Quilting Arts magazine called “Thread Sketching 101, Lesson 6: Focus on Movement.”
