This piece is an exercise on creating pattern using thread. It is based on a photo I took on a beach of seafoam that had drifted onto the sand.
I created this piece as a sample for an article I wrote for the October/November 2010 issue of Quilting Arts magazine called “Thread Sketching 101, Lesson 4: Focus on Pattern.”
