“Postcard from Glacier National Park: Avalanche Lake”
9-1/2" x 6-3/4"
(2009). Original design.
Cotton fabrics, cotton threads, fusible web, interfacing, cotton batting. Thread sketched, free-motion machine quilted.

Created for an article I wrote for the February/March issue of Quilting Arts magazine, called “Thread Sketching 101, Lesson 1: Focus on Color.” Only five fabrics were used in this piece (the sky, the water, the hill, the mountains, and the bank of the lake). The color variations and details were all created with thread.
