This is a study in texture with thread on a painted fabric surface. I created realistic fur by paying close attention to the direction and coarsemenss of the diferent kinds of fur on our cat, Max.
I created this piece as a sample for an article I wrote for the June/July issue of Quilting Arts magazine called “Thread Sketching 101, Lesson 3: Focus on Texture.”
